For Windows, there is a program &quot;pc-port-forwarding&quot; (www.verifed.com/products) which performs forwarding of ports without routers. For incoming and outgoing connections it displays popup messages each time forwarded connection is established. it even performs a reflection of traffic back to the source on a different port!</description>

a) from LAN
b) from WAN (by connecting my computer temporarily to the router WAN port)
Sth like ping, but for a specified port.
